The whole staff is taking a few days off! We'll be completely CLOSED from July 30 through August 3. No phone calls will be answered during this time and our pick up window will be closed, so if you have an order to place or something you need to pickup before August 4, please do that by Wed, July 29.

Starting Tuesday, August 4 we will be shifting to new hours. We will be open from 1pm to 6pm Tuesday through Saturday, and closed every Sunday and Monday. During these hours we will be open for pick up, phone orders, and to a limited number of customers. Scheduling a pickup appointment will not be necessary, but PLEASE wait until you receive an email saying your order is ready for pickup before you come to the shop.

We are taking reopening seriously and with the necessary safety precautions. We'll allow 6 customers in the shop at a time, and ask that you limit browsing to 20 minutes. Masks are required, as is hand sanitizer when you enter. We will follow social distancing rules, of course, and our pickup window will remain open for those who aren't ready to come inside.

As always, let us know if you have trouble physically accessing our space. We know it's a difficult space and we'll work with you to get you your order.

As a community bookstore we are committed to practicing antiracism through our events, collaborations, and by consciously choosing to support BIPOC artists and small businesses. We are actively working to provide resources for our community members on ways to practice antiracism, and are offering 匿名伋理ip on talking to our kids and each other about race and antiracism. East City Bookshop is committed to creating a welcoming environment for all.

Please note: given our limited staff at present, Surprise Pack orders may take a few days to ship. Because these are custom packs, individual items can’t be returned.
